WMU Chapter of the American
Association of University Professors

The Western Michigan University Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (WMU-AAUP) was founded in 1950, became a collective-bargaining chapter in 1974, and is currently affiliated with the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT). The WMU-AAUP is a faculty-driven union that advocates for academic freedom, due process, shared governance, and the preservation of higher education as a public good.

Robert Kleiner Memorial Scholarship

2024 – 2025 Academic Year
$2,000 Stipend

This scholarship is available to any student who has interest or experience in the field of collective bargaining and/or labor relations and will be enrolled at WMU during the fall semester of 2024 or spring semester of 2025. The $2,000 stipend may be used at the discretion of the recipient to assist them in meeting their education goals. Candidates for the scholarship must complete an application form and provide a short statement that demonstrates their interest or experience in collective bargaining and/or labor relations.
